MUSIC ACTIVITIES: Throughout the year all elementary students will experience many different music activities, which include singing a variety of songs, playing the xylophone and percussion instruments, exploring movement and dance, and learning to read music notation. Fourth-graders also learn to play the recorder to prepare for 5th-grade band. Fifth-graders learn to play a band instrument.

SCHEDULE: All elementary students have music two times a week. Fifth-graders also participate in an after-school band ensemble once a week.

ELEMENTARY CHOIR: This after-school activity is open to all students in Grades 3, 4, & 5 who love to sing. It meets once a week most trimesters.

BEGINNING BAND ENSEMBLES: All 5th-graders should participate in the after-school activity for their instrument.  This will help them to learn to play their instrument more quickly. All sessions meet at 3:30-4:30 in the band room.
